Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some common questions we often receive from athletes considering our strength and conditioning coaching systems.
1. What is Strength and Conditioning?
Strength and conditioning is the practical application of sports science to enhance movement quality for everyone—not just athletes. It focuses on improving speed, strength, and power, whether in sports performance or real-life scenarios like helping elderly clients move more easily. This approach also prioritizes injury prevention by developing better movement patterns. Strength and conditioning isn't about extreme exercises or specific drills, but rather using various tools like plyometrics, mobility, and weight training to improve overall sports performance, health, and movement.

2. What are the benefits of Strength and Conditioning?
Strength and conditioning offers significant benefits for improving sports performance. It enhances movement quality, leading to better speed, strength, and power, all crucial for excelling in any sport. By focusing on injury prevention, it helps athletes stay in peak condition and reduces downtime, while improved proprioception sharpens body awareness for greater control and agility. Tailored, performance-specific programming boosts key areas like endurance, mobility, and technical skills. Additionally, strength and conditioning builds muscle mass, increases metabolism, and speeds up recovery, allowing athletes to perform at their best for longer periods.

4. What is the time commitment?
Our coaching structures are about gaining maximum performance improvements given the time you have available. Consequently we design your program to fit into your schedule - and we adjust it as needed to fit changes in commitments.

Performance improvements can be gained from as little as 2 sessions per week and 25-30mins per session.
5. Do I need any special equipment?
One of the major advantages of the structures we provide is that athlete can train with whatever equipment they have available. Some athletes access commercial gyms whilst others train in a home gym, or just in an open space with minimal equipment utilising bodyweight exercises. We can cater for whatever facility/equipment you have access to and will always make recommendations on anything that we believe will help improve your performances.
6. How soon will I see results?
As with all types of training results will vary depending on your training history, access to equipment, amount of time you can commit each week and most importantly your consistency.

With all that being stated, athletes tend to find that noticeable changes are apparent after 4-6 weeks. It is our intention that you will continue to build through to your main goals where we will help ensure your are competition ready.
7. Is the coaching really personalized?
Yes!! When we create a program we take into account many factors, including:

8. I have been working with a physio. How do you ensure you are both "on the same page"?
Our 2 priorities will always be your health & well-being and your sporting performance. As such we consider it critical to have an open channel of communication with any specialist (including physios). We are available to interact with them via phone or email as part of our normal coaching process.
